BlackRock Has Invested Nearly $400 Million in Bitcoin Mining Stocks

According to SEC filings, BlackRock, the world's biggest asset management, had almost $400 million invested in bitcoin mining firms at the end of the second quarter.

• According to SEC filings dated June 30, BlackRock owns 6.71 percent of Marathon Digital Holdings and 6.61 percent of Riot Blockchain, according to Forbes.

• The entire amount invested by the two companies is slightly about $383 million.

• BlackRock's investment is spread across a number of mutual funds and exchange-traded funds (ETFs), including the iShares Russell 2000 ETF.
